Position: SENIOR MANUAFACTURING QUALITY INSPECTOR
Department: QUALITY
Reports To: ACTUATOR ENGINEERING MANAGER
Grade: Full-Time
Position Summary: (Why does this position exist in the organization?)
This position will ensure that raw materials, production processes, procedures, and products of Micromatic comply with ISO 9001-15 and internal quality standards. Additionally, this position is skilled in the use of precision measurement hand tools and a CMM for inspecting parts against engineering print specifications. Must be capable of performing difficult inspection set ups, routine inspection functions and contributing to the establishment of quality procedures without assistance. Individuals in this position will set an example for a culture of quality and be willing to lead and train others. Must be able to collect data and possess the skills necessary to select, operate, maintain inspection equipment and be capable of insuring adherence to quality procedures and product specifications.
Essential Job Functions (fundamental job duties):
- Perform difficult inspection set ups inspect parts using a CMM, height gage and common measurement devices
- Use hardness testing equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Adhere to and support ISO 9001-15 standards and audits
- Collect and record data for statistical process control purposes
- Perform gage calibrations and utilize Gagepack
- Utilize a computer for data entry
- Assist in establishing KPI’s, improving quality policies and procedures
- Clearly communicate information verbally with machine operators and supervision
Marginal Job Functions (non-fundamental job duties):
- Perform other assignments throughout the plant as required
Education (What is the minimum education level necessary to complete the essential functions of the position?)
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- Understanding of ISO 9001-15
Experience (What are the minimum years of experience necessary to complete the essential functions of the position?)
- 5+ years as a quality inspector and or coordinator
- Familiarity with first piece, last piece, and final inspection
- Must be able to translate/understand engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience reading and interpreting GD&T
- Experience using a CMM and Height gage, calipers, and a micrometer
- Understanding of raw materials

- Must have good communication skills, be organized, disciplined and willing to support the rest of the organization in a businesslike fashion
- Must be skilled in the use of precision hand tools and measuring equipment
- Must have physical attributes to perform the job function.
- Must have working knowledge using a computer for entering information
