Quality Coordinator

Position Summary:  (Why does this position exist in the organization?)


This position will be responsible for coordinating quality management efforts while monitoring and evolving quality control procedures to ensure that raw materials, production processes, procedures, and products of Micromatic comply with ISO 9001-15 and internal quality standards.  This position will perform gage calibrations, use GAGEpack, perform setups to inspect parts and work with supervision to collect and analyze data.  Evaluate and revise or create work instructions and procedures as necessary for the quality function.


Essential Job Functions (fundamental job duties):

  • Perform difficult inspection set ups inspect parts using a CMM, height gage and common measurement devices.
  • Perform gage calibrations and use GAGEpack software.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Adhere to and support ISO 9001-15 standards and audits.
  • Collect and record data for statistical process control purposes.
  • Utilize a computer for data entry.
  • Assist in establishing KPI’s, improving quality policies and procedures.
  • Clearly communicate information.

  • Perform other assignments throughout the plant as required.


Education (What is the minimum education level necessary to complete the essential functions of the position?)

  • BS degree in engineering or statistics or 5+ years of equivalent experience and a High School diploma.


Experience (What are the minimum years of experience necessary to complete the essential functions of the position?)

  • 5+ years as a quality; inspector, coordinator, or engineer.
  • 3+ years using a CMM and Height gage, calipers, and a micrometer.
  • 2+ years performing part setups and inspection.
  • 2+ years engineering drawings and specifications.
  • 1+ years working knowledge of GAGEpack.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T


Mandatory Qualification Requirements (What are the mandatory qualification requirements for the position?)

  • Must have good communication skills, be organized, disciplined and willing to support the rest of the organization in a businesslike fashion.
  • Must be skilled in the use of precision hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Must have GAGEpack experience.
  • Must have physical attributes to perform the job function.
  • Must have working knowledge using a computer for entering information.
  • Willing to work 9am to 5:30pm


Non-mandatory Qualification Requirements (Not absolutely required but will enhance applicant/employee chances for success.)

  • Do other jobs throughout the plant as required by the supervisor.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking to understand potential issues on the product from a customer perspective and potential solutions.
  • Mathematical and data analysis skills.
  • Able to interpret and apply GD&T.
