Business Development Manager - Automation

This position is responsible for managing current automation customer accounts and developing new business opportunities thru direct sales. The position requires a basic knowledge of automated assembly processes and equipment with experience in promoting the application of such products. This position requires a positive, professional image and the ability to travel up to 50%. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops sales leads thru cold calling and networking
  • Develops sales and marketing presentations
  • Manages customer relationships
  • Assists in proposal preparation
  • Presents and closes proposals
  • Gathers competitive intelligence
  • Assists with collection activities
  • Assists with forecasting activities

Marginal Job Functions:

  • Provides reports as needed
  • Assists with engineering and service activities as needed


  • BSME
  • BSEE
  • Or equivalent technical education or knowledge


  • Minimum 5 years sales, business development, application engineering experience
  • Some knowledge of a CRM system

Mandatory Qualification Requirements:

  • Strong inter-personal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Products
  • Reading and interpretation of technical drawings
  • Strong organizational, team building, time management skills
  • Training in cost estimating, expediting and prioritizing
  • Strong mechanical aptititude
  • Strong negotiating skills
