Service Team Helps Achive High Quality Products Using Automated Test Systems by Micromatic

 A US based automotive supplier was experiencing an unsatisfactory amount of rejects on a vision capable automated test system that verified a specific component. The major issue was repeatability in the presentation of the part to the field of view and the result was a false reject rate of 2.5% or approximately 100 parts per day. Micromatic Service Department in collaboration with another supplier evaluated the issues and recommended a new approach that involved a higher degree of verification. This allowed for a more consistent view that eliminated the need for critical physical alignment. A coordinated plan approved by the customer was set in motion and Micromatic engineers provided on site implementation of the new solution which included both hardware and software integration. The initial results were positive and immediate and the new application provided a reduction of rejects from 2.5% to .0009% which also included actual reject parts. The customer was extremely satisfied with the solution and the integration and provided the following feedback: "Thanks for the good job the Micromatic team did on our automated test system equipment.
